The plan is to strengthen and assist the office of the Joint Secretary (Development and Medical Education), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to enable it to discharge its responsibility in matters of procurement and logistics by establishing the Procurement and Logistics Management Cell. This cell would be responsible for coordinating and supervising decentralization, training, and capacity building efforts, including those required within the key procuring entities (PEs) under the Health, Population, and Nutrition Sector Development Program (HPNSDP). The main goal of the workshop was to improve the procurement practices of MOHFW by introducing FWAs and two-year international competitive bids (ICBs).
