Emmanuel Nfor, SIAPS Principal Technical Advisor and Head of the Supply Chain Management Cluster, will present today at the 8th Annual International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Pathogenisis, Treatment, and Prevention (IAS 2015).
Nfor’s poster presentation focuses on improving supply chain management for antiretroviral therapy (ART) commodities among women and newborns in Cameroon, where unmet need for ART among HIV+ pregnant women stands at 66%. Ensuring the availability of ART commodities is essential for preventing the spread of the disease through mother-to-child transmission. The presentation falls under the conference’s Implementation Science track, which reviews implementation research that addresses barriers to scaling up and integrating research and prevention in resource-limited and policy-constrained settings.
Nfor is joined by colleagues from Management Sciences for Health-Nigeria, who will be presenting on six abstracts accepted by IAS 2015. Dr. Ndulue Nwokedi, Deputy Project Director for ProACT, will today present an abstract on the development of a unique dried blood spot transport model for early infant diagnosis in Nigeria.
